Jónás Bubenka (17. century) hungarian woodcutter, one of the geatest hungarian artist of the XVII. century, although the printmakeing were practiced only by occupation. He illustrated with 152 nice woodcut Comenius Amos's 1679 published Orbis Pictus children's book.

The first an last picture of the book is the same, a decent-looking hungarian man who teach a hungarian dressed boy. In the distance the towers of Lőcse.

The Idea to illustrate Madách Imre's 1860 published work was came up in the summer of 1885. In this time the newspapers wrote that Zichy got a two month holiday from the czar, to draw the illustrations for The Tragedy of Man. At the first time he only drawed 15 artworks, which were exhibited in the Műcsarnok in 1886.

One year later in 1888 another gift edition were published with all the 20 drawings. The readership and the citic were also impressed. In spite of illustration were very extensive and popular from the 1850's, this was the first time that Zichy made a series for a hungarian literature.

You there, Lucifer, proudly standing apart,
No word of praise from you? Are you still silent?
Does something in my work, perhaps, displease you?

Huba Bálványos, graphic artist, Munkácsi Prize winner, died at age 73 on 12 August 2011.

He chiefly made figurative art, mostly lithographs, graphics and drawings with mixed technique. He also made large size pictures, memorial walls for schools and bronze portrait reliefs. Thematic folders were published of his linocuts and graphics. He also made book illustrations. In Hungary he had more than 100 exhibitions, abroad 5, in addition he was a regular participant of graphic art biennials. Several pieces of his artwork were bought by public galleries, many of them can be seen in the Hungarian National Gallery (Magyar Nemzeti Galéria). For acknowlegement of his work he was awarded many prizes; for example the Munkácsy Prize in 1979, the Szent-Györgyi Albert Prize because of his pedagogy work, the Eötvös József Prize in 2008, last year he won the Csokonai Vitéz Mihály Art Prize.

"Besides his work as an artist he is also well-known for his lectures, proffessional articles and books on visual education. He was one of the founders and presidents of the College of Pedagogy and Visual Education Institutions. He found the development of opinions as the strong connection between art and pedagogy. He declared the following: '...if art wasn't for life, if it wasn't about life, what would it be for?'." (Pál Gerber, 2010)

George Grosz (1893 – 1959) german artist. Near the Academy, he studied caricatures. The difficulties of living were forced to draw into : his humorous, satyric drawings were very popular. His compositions were mainly like graphics than paintings.

He hated cruelity, and he was dreaming of mankind happiness. May be that was the reason he can illustrate with cruel. Grosz's satyre reveal the dark side of the society. His artworks and drawings were confiscated, banned, qualify against morality.

Isoda Koryusai (1735-1790) was a Japanese printmaker and painter active from approximately 1764 to 1788.
The details of his life are under some dispute. He apparently came from a samurai background. One theory stated he became a ronin and was forced to turn to art, but another says he voluntarily gave up the life of a samurai for art. In 1781 he received the title Hokkyo for his talent and accomplishments.

E műfajban eljutott a jelképalkotásig, lemondva a tér távlatos ábrázolásáról. Néprajzi sorozatai szellemes lenyomatai a múltnak, egy eltűnő életformának.
